    In 1997 Bobby recieved his first double transplant with good lab results,Afterwards he went back to skiing.
  • Bobby with acute renal rejection

    Acute renal rejection is when there arent enough white cells in your imune system. Bobby started to experience this desease right after hes 1st transplant. After working with his health care groups he then knew he had to get the medication.     After his kidney failure, Bobby needed a treatment known as dialysis to help him.
  • 2nd double transplant

    After 2 years on dialysis he finally got his 2nd double transplant. Not long after he recovered he retired from skiing at age 40 and went on to mountain bike racing.

    While on dialysis Bobby met a DaVita nurse named Therese. Eventually they fell in love with each other." I met Therese after i started dialyis and had lost 40-45 pounds so i was barely 150 pounds and was pretty sick"-Bobby.     When he decided to bike race, he completed over 23 races including the Challenged Athletes Foundation Half Ironman Event which consisted of a 56- mile bike race.
