Beowulf was called to save the Dane, which was suffering the attack by Grendel. Grendel was very bloody and fierce.

He decided to save the Danes! He ordered a boat and announced that he would sail the swan’s road and search out Hrothgar.

Beowulf enlisted 14 best men, to help him against Grendel. They sailed through the sea and arrived Dane. Then, Beowulf saw Hrothgar finally.

Beowulf introduced himself to Hrothgar, he had great triumphs when he was young. He has been fight with a lot of monsters. He asked for request to Hrothgar, only he and his helpers go fight with him.

Beowulf was standing on the hearth in webbed links that the smith had woven, the fine-forged mesh of his gleaming mail-shirt, resolute in his helmet. He also has sharp sword and spear. He wear chain armor and has all the Geats who followed him came to Dane to fight with Grendel.

Beowulf lay down beside other soldiers who came with him. He pretended like he was asleep. Grendel killed a Geats soilder first then came to Beowulf. First, he attacked Beowulf with his talon. Beowulf arm locked him utterly. Grendel realized the strong power and he wanted to escape. Then, Beowulf sprang and hold his fingers, fingers broke. Through they fought a while — Grendel’s arm was teared off, also his shoulder. The sinews split and the bone burst. Finally, Grendel escaped.

Everyone around this place go to the hall to see Grendel’s shoulder which was teared off by Beowulf. They was shocked by this hero. People admired Beowulf a lot.

Hrothgar asked a traditional singer to admire him. He rehearsing Beowulf’s triumphs and feats. Hrothgar adopt Beowulf in his heart as a dear son. Then Hrothgar presented Beowulf with a gold standard as a victory gift, an embroidered banner; also breast-mail and a helmet; and a sword carried high, 8 horses as well. Finally, they began celebrate victory.
