    When the enemie's battery started to fire and bring down 1st Division's men and A Company was ordered to provide cover for the injured 1st Division. They failed.

    Benjamin Benner and the rest of his regiment were ordered to march 5 miles further into the town of Eden when one of the enemies batteries went offin the city.

    Benjamin Benner and his regimont were taken captive and first marched through Front Royal and they were then told to march 19 miles though Winchester and again to Cedar Creek. They were only given one pound of bacon and 3 crackers for the whole regimont.
