Age 70
Benjamin Button was born as a 70 year old man. When his dad figured this out he was in shock and denial because he was expecting a newborn child, not an elderly man. Mr. button was in so much shock that he said "Is this some ghastly hospital joke?" because he couldn't believe that he actually had a seventy year old son. -
7 months after birth
Mr. Button was buying child toys for Benjamin such as toy trains and lead soldiers because he was still in denial that benjamin was an old man, and he would rather have a newborn child. When he was buying the toys he didn't want the store clerk to think that he had a eventy year old child, so he would ask them slyly, "Will the paint come off the pink duck if the baby put it in his mouth?" -
Age 58
Benjamin button has still not completely been accepted by his family at this point in his life, but his parents believe that this is what happened to them and they are starting to accept him in their family at this point. Mr. Button said that Benjamin wanted "to put trousers on" accepting him as an adult. -
12 years after birth
Mr. Button buys adult clothing including long trousers for Benjamin. He is really frustrated because he did not get trousers until he was older. Mr. Button was saying that Benjamin is not old enough for trousers by saying "I don't know. Fourteen is the age for putting on long trousers--and you are only twelve." -
18 years after birth
Benjamin is now a middle aged man around the age of 50 and his hair starts to become a dark shade of gray. When he met hildegarde at this age she said "I like men of your age." -
20 years after birth (age 50)
This is the year that Bejamin marrys the woman Hildegarde Moncrief. Hildegarde is much younger than Benjamin, but Hildegarde likes older men. Hldegarde said that she'd "rather marry a man of fifty and be taken care of than marry a man of thirty and take care of him." -
21 years after birth
after being alive for 21 years, Benjamin enrolls at Yale, and he is declined because he looked too old. After Benjamin told the registrar that he is a freshman he said, "now surely, Mr. Button, you don't expect me to believe that." -
40 years after birth
Around the age of 30 Benjamin registers for the Spanish-American war because he no longer enjoyed living with Hildegarde. He ended up being a lieutenant in the war. While he was in the war, people would say "he seems to grow younger every year," -
50 years after birth
At age 20 benjamin enrolls at harvard and is very popular with his piers. Benjamin plays football for their team. With Benjamin playing for Harvard, they beat Yale by a ton in a game. He played so well that his friends called him a "prodigy." -
54 years after birth
Benjamin graduates from Harvard as an 18 year old and went home to Baltimore with his Harvard diploma in his pocket. After graduating the thought of going to St. Mida's school recurred to him, so he said to Roscoe, "I've told you over and over that I want to go to prep school." -
66 years after birth
Benjamin is now taken from kindergarten and spends a lot of time with his nurse, Nana. They would play in the park and Nana would point to a great gray monster and yell "elephant" and Benjamin would repeat her saying "Elyphant, elyphant, elyphant." -
70 years after birth
Benjamin button is now the same as a newborn child and dies at age 0 in his crib with the dim faces of the people he used to love in his fading vision. Before Benjamin passed away, Nana said "sun," and as the sun lowered in the sky his eyes closed and that was it.
