Mussolini began his job as a newspaper editor of the Italian newspaper Avanti. He accepted the position because it was a socialist newspaper. -

Mussolini is kicked out of the socialist party because he changes his stance on the war. In his newspaper he begins to write things that support Italy joining the war. He did this because he was promised his own tabloid if he did. He sacrificed his morals for a while and he got something to enhance them for it. -

March on Rome
On the night between October 27th and 28th, 30,000 Fascists gathered in Rome to demand the resignation of Luigi Facta and the appointment of a Fascist government. The King refused to declare marital law, which led to Facta's resignation. The King then allowed Mussolini to create a new government. -
