    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord involved British Troops and the Militia of Massachusetts. There were 1,800 British men fighting and the American number is unknown.The battle was savage. The British suffered extensive losses and the Americans considered this an encouraging start to the war.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson was the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence. Many well known signed men signed the Declaration. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and many more. The Declaration stated all the rights of men and what the king has done wrong. The Americans needed to be free.

    Battle of Saratoga
    British and German troops were going against the Americans during this battle. There were merley 5,000 British and allies of the British. By the time they surrendered there 12,00-14,000 American militia and troops. The Americans forced the surrender of the British.

    The Articles of Confederation created a loose confederation about a weak centeral government and strong state power. They needed a stronger federal government and that soon became clear. This soon led to the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

    The Americans and French were fighting against the British. There were 8,800 Americans, 7,800 French, and 6,00 British.

    The Treaty of Paris is what officially ended the Revolutionary War between Britain and America. Peace talks begin in Paris between the British and the Americans. They negotiated until they could all agree on the terms of the treaty and everyone signed it.

    This is considered one of the most important legislative acts in American history because of the importance it held. It established a survey and sale of the western land for Americans. This was important so people could split land evenly.

    The exact date of when Shays rebellion ended is unknown.
    Shays Rebellion is the name of a bunch of protests in 1786 and 1787. Farmers were protesting against tax collection and tax prices. The leader was Daniel Shays. I have a picture, but i couldn't figure out how to put it in.

    What is the great compromise and what did it do?
    The Virginia plan wanted the amount of representatives to be based on population. the New Jersey plan wanted the amount of representatives to be equal in all states because it was a smaller state. The compromise was to have two groups of representatives. One based on population and one where merley two people were chosen no matter what.

    This was held in the State House (now known as the Independence Hall) All the states were represented at the convention except Rhode Island who didn't attend. Many compromises were reahced and the delegates left happy.

    The exact date is unknown so i put the default of the twentyith of November as the date, but it is known that the Tree-Fifths compromise occured in 1787. Southern states wanted slaves to count for representation, but not taxes. The Northern states wanted slaves to count for tax, but not representaion. The compromise was the three-fifths of the slave population in each state would count for represention and taxes.

    Rhode Island was the thirteenth state to join the union. Their late arrival came after the new federal government commenced. Rhode Island was not the only state not to send a representative to the Constitutional Convention.

    Agreed upon date for banning slave trade
    This was a way for the nation to get rid of slave tade without upsetting the southern states. They eventually ended slave trade, but their was a terrible fight from the southern states because they wanted to keep their slaves.
