  • Primary attachment figure

    Primary attachment figure
    I am shown to be Lamar's primary attachment figure. Primary attachment figure is a person who is most involved in the care of the child. (pp. 207-208). Usually the mother would be placed in this role but anyone could be a primary attachment figure. The bond between a child and their caregiver is very strong. Lamar at 8 months showed an obvious attachment to me and he prefers me over other people because I'm the one mostly invoved with him.
  • Temperament

    Lamar adapts to new people and situations very well. Lamars temperament would be categorized as an easy baby. Easy babies are thoses with very positive moods and they adapt well to new situations. (pp.160-161)
  • first word

    At 12 months lamar pronouced his first clear word. Lamar learned my parents dogs name and now calls every object that he sees the dogs name. Lamar is demonstrating limited vocabulary which causes him to overextend words. overextension is where the child uses a single word to represent a variety of related objects. (pp. 194)
  • experimenting

    Lamar just turned 15 months and he is performing simple little experiments with his toys.For example, he pushes his bath toys under water at various depths and delightedly watches how high they pop back above the surface.this demonstrates tertiary circular reaction. (pp. 187) tertiary circular reaction is where a action is performed repeatedly.
  • language skills

    Lamar sometimes talks to himself as he plays alone in his room. Lamars is showing cooperative pretend play. Cooperative pretent play is where the child uses their imaginations when playing. (pp. 270)
