    The Battle of Shiloh was a chance for the Confederates to surprise attack the Union. Luckily for the union their counter attacks were too much for the south and they were able to pull off a victory which spurred the north more than the south.
  • Second Battle of Bull Run

    This battle solidified Robert E Lee reputation of having great tactics in battle. Making this a southern victory, fought in Virginia which the south had a home field advantage.
  • The Battle of Antietam

    A Union victory this was a battle that made Abraham Lincoln confident in announcing the emancipation proclamation. This was A very messy battle for both sides. with unwise tactics and just messy stratifies making it one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil war.
  • The Battle of Fredericksburg

    A crushing defeat for the Union The Battle of Fredericksburg was one of the bloodiest battles. With 400 men killed and 3700 wounded on the confederate side. The Union lost 1,300 soldiers with 9,600 wounded. this was a huge loss for the Union.
  • Battle of Stone's River

    A win for the Union the Battle of Stones River, was a surprise attack on the Union but the Union was able to hold up on the Confederate side, to get the victory of the battle.
  • Battle of Chancellorsville

    Fought in Virginia the Battle of Chancellorsville, was a victory for the Confederacy and a pretty big one as well. And is another great example of General Lees leadership.

    The bloodiest Battle of the Civil War the Battle of Gettysburg is when about 50 thousand soldiers were lost in battle making it the bloodiest battle. With 23,00 killed on the union side and 25000 deaths on the confederacy side.

    The Battle of Chickamauga was a confederate victory due to the amazing tactical abilities of the general. That the union could not keep up. But in the long run this did not give the south and long term victories.
