Battle of Fort Sumter

Fort Sumter was a Union Fort stationed in South Carolina. The location of the fort made it hard to defend against the South. After 34 hours, the North finally surrendered, losing the first battle of the Civil War. The cause was the fact that the fort was in the South, making it an easy target, with the effect being a loss for the North.

A battle fought in Virginia. It was fought between the Union and Confederacy. In the end, the Union won another battle.

Battle of Bull Run [First]

Battle fought between the Union and the Confederacy. In the end, the Confederacy wins. Over 20,000 were killed in battle.

It was a two day battle fought between the Union and the Confederacy. A total of 23,000 casualties were calculated after the battle, the bloodiest battle in history. In the end, the Union won this battle.

A battle fought in Maryland, between the Union and Confederacy. It was the first battle to be fought on Northern soil. The Union won this battle.

Battle of Palmito Bay

May 13, 1865

Battle fought between the Confederacy and the Union. In the end, the Confederacy won.
