"Stonewall" Jackson's Campaign through the Shenado Valley during the American Civil War. Jackson enveloped the right flank of the Union Army under Maj. Gen. Nathaniel P. Banks and pursued it as it fled across the Potomac River in Maryland. -

Since it was the last engagment between organized forces of the Union Army and the Conederate States Army involving casualties. It was fought on May 12 and 13, 1865. It was on the banks of the Rio Grande east of Brownsville, Texas. It was a few miles from the Seaport of Brazos de Santiago (Now Known As Matamoros).
