This battle was important because it was the bloodiest battle that was ever fought durring the civil war and the Union won. -
Battle of Chancellorsville
The confederacy Won again and it was importanat because it ruined the Union's plans to attack Richmond, the south's capital. -
The Vicksburg Siege
This battle started on the Fourth of July and the Union won. It was important that the North won because it cut off major states in the south. -
The Wilderness Campaign
This battle was important because all of the gun powder started forest fires and burned many of the soldiers fighting, yet the Union still won. -
Farragut at Mobile Bay
This battle was on water and it was important because the Union had won so they had taken control of the entire Mississippi River. -
Fall of Richmond/ Surrender at Appomattox
Obviously Richmond was destroyed but by its own president, Jefferson Davis, and the Confederacy surrendered and the Union had officially won the Civil War. -
