  • The Education (Butler) act

    Rab Butler was appointed the president of the board of Education. Educatoin act was launched in England which made secondary education compulsory and It was proposed that the existing differentiation between elementary and secondary education should be abolished and that instead there should be three stages of education: primary, secondary and further. Local educational agencies were set up to ensure that there were separate primary and secondary schools.
  • The wind of change

    GCE, O- levels and A levels were introduced- some ecucational authorities establishes their own private schools such as grammar schools.
  • The Crowther report

    School leaving age was raised to 16.A new exam below A level was implemented which allowed the expansion of further education and vocational education in England.
  • Boyle act

    Allowed the creation of middle schools, comprehensive schools were set up.
  • Shool leaving age

    School leaving age was raised to 16.
  • Manpower services comission

    Schemes such as youth Training schemes were employed to address the growing problem of unemployment.
  • PGCE

    Post graduate certificate in education was made compulsory for any individual willing to enter the profession of teaching.
  • My Birth

    I was born
  • GCSE and NVQs

    GCE, O levels and CSE were replaced by general certificate in secondary education. National council for vocational qualifications was also established.
  • Started my first school

    Started my schooling in a grammar school named, SBASJS school Anandpur sahib. Due to the high costs the school did not last very long so I eneded up moving to a comprehensive school. the school is still running but was later to be named SBASJS academy, this allowed the school to have access to more funds.
  • Establishment of OFSTED

    OFSTED was established in England to trace the quality of education in schools. This raised the standards of teaching. In india, we had a similad board called PSEB (punjab school education board) which ensured that regular assessments were taken by students throughout the state and that the standards of good education are maintained within the schools.
  • Took my Key Stage 1 tests

    Took my Key stage 1 tests. These were state tests that every student in year five had to take at the same time.
  • Started Girls high school

    I started secondary school, this was a girls only school and I had to undertake tests before I got into the school. It was the best school for girls at that time. It was subdivided into two areas, bigger area for 6-10 and more sort of private area for year 11-12. Due to perrsonal circumstances I could only attend this school until year 10.
  • Took my GCSEs

    Took my GCSE at my school Govt.Girls. Sen.Sec. School A.P.S. I took 8 GCSEs including, English, Science, History, Punjabi, Geography, drawing and Hindi.
  • Every child matters

    Government in England launched the children act which stated that every child matters.
  • Took my A levels

    As mentioned before I left school in 2002 so studied my A levels ar home and by having privater tuitions. I took A levels in Politics, History, Sociology, English and Punjabi.
  • Started Access to HE

    Went back to college to study Access to HE so that I could go to University.
  • University of Wolverhampton

    I startedmy BSc at the university of Wplverhampton.
  • Started my PGCE

    I started my PGCE at the University of wolverhampton in order to fulfil my desire of becoming a science teacher.
