    Arrival of William Dampier
    On the 6th of August 1699 William Dampier, an explorer, author and pirate was the first European to have the role to study the Australian seas, animals and plants. He lived from 1651 to 1715. He made the first scientific collection of official Australian plants. He planned to explore more but eventually he was forced to go back to England because of the Roebuck leak.
  • Arrival of The First Fleet

    Arrival of The First Fleet
    The First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay on the 20th of Jan 1788, The ships captain was Arthur Phillip, 11 boats where set to sail by the British government filled with criminals . all boats had over 1500 Men, Women and Children. This event marked the start of the British Settlement. In Indigenous Australians call it ¨Invasion Day"
  • Gold Rush

    12 of Feb, 1851
    Bathurst NSW, Near a waterhole, a prospector found gold. As they began travelling again, they discovered even more gold in Victoria, This is when the Australian Gold Rush started to form. In a year, more that 500,000 people went to where the gold was located in Australia.
  • Ned Kelly

    Ned Kelly
    28th of June 1880
    Ned Kelly was captured by the Victorian Police after the siege at Glenrowan Inn. All other members of the gang where killed during the siege. Ned Kelly was executed in Melbourne in November 1880.
  • Australian Woman Suffrage

    Australian Woman Suffrage
    Before Federation, only the SA and WA where allowed to vote. But before that, parliament didn't think women weren´t responsible enough to vote. This led to the Australian Woman Suffrage movement which then moved to the commonwealth which enabled women over 21 to vote.
