Audrey’s heart stopped three weeks later, after her birth. She caught a contagious bacterial disease named whooping cough. Her mother revived her, leading her to believe in a second chance of life.

In 1932, sir Oswald Mosley formed the Britannic union of fascists. Audrey’s parents were friends with Mosley and became involved in the fundraising and recruitment for the British fascist Party.

Her mother Ella sent her to boarding school in England with the objective of building her confidence. At the time Audrey was five years old.

Audrey’s father abandoned their family which is attributed to his political radicalism. This became one of Audrey biggest traumas.

She returned to school in England taking up a new hobby, ballet. She showed considerable talent at the age of six.

The German forces invaded Poland. Two days later Britain and France Declared war on Germany. For this reason she had to leave and managed to get on the last flights to Holland for safety.

The German army invaded, crossing the borders of Holland. Audreys town Arnhem was surrounded by the Nazi. In five days of fighting more than 80,000 people were homeless and over 5000 were killed. The dutch surrendered the German army 15 May.

The German occupation affected Audrey’s family and her. Hitler was passing touch resources to Germany and food was strictly rationalized. Amongst many she survived on watery metal soup and bread made of dry pea flour.

In 1942 Hitler was imposing anti-Semitism rights, Consequently a Dutch resistance movement was organized, staging attacks but the Nazi fought back. Audreys uncle Otto was killed, one of her half brothers flood for his life and the other one was captured. Despite the risk, Audrey decided to work for the Dutch resistance as a Messenger which could be considered her first informal acting role.

The operation market Garden was launched in September which completely failed. Arnhem was destroyed and the Nazi occupation sought revenge. The people of Arnhem had two options being: Flea or get shot. Audrey and her mother watched the evacuation from the city outside. They took in 40 people but there was literally nothing to eat.

In 1940 for a brutal winter set in.The Nazis blocked all Access of food in the area. To avoid starvation, 15 year old Audrey, along with the rest had to eat tulips and dog biscuits. She was too weak to walk and even to stand. 1944

April and May 201945, help arrived in the form of operation Manna and operation Chow hound. Allied aircraft made a few drops of a German occupied Dutch territory.

Holland was officially liberated on Audrey 16th birthday. Audrey along with thousands was critically affected. She was severely malnourished and underweight, suffering from asthma and jaundice. She was benefited from help provided by UNICEF and the Red Cross. She moved to Amsterdam with her mother to practice ballet and studied with a leading name in Dutch Valley, Sonia Gaskell.

At 19 years old after three years of intense training, she auditioned for a place at Rembrandt ballet school in London. She realized she no longer had a dancers body or a dancer strength. Her technique didn’t compare to the students that ate well and had been able to practice in the years of war. At the age of 20 she realized she wasn’t going to become a professional ballerina.

Audrey needed to work and was determined to use her dancing skills, so she auditioned as a chorister in London musical. Shortly after she secured her walk on part in a film.

Audrey travel to Monico film minor role in “Monte Carlo baby”. The famous French writer Collet what is in Monte Carlo to cast the Broadway musical based on her book, “Gigi”. Once she spotted Audrey across the lobby in a hotel, she casted her as GG being her first major theatrical role.

The director William Wyler was casting “Roman holiday”. To be able to cast Audrey as the leading role depended on a screen test which was immaculate. The production made her a Broadway star at just 23.

She won the Oscar for best actress with the film “Roman Holiday”

Her mental health critically deteriorated. She would smoke a pack of cigarettes a day and was 7 pounds underweight.

She married Mel Ferrer at age 25.

In spring she was pregnant again and gave birth to her first son, Sean.

Audrey took on the role that would transform her into the most iconic women of the world, playing the role of a prostitute, creating one of the most enduring characters of film. Breakfast at Tiffany’s earned her another Oscar nomination, which was released 5 October 1961.

Audrey starred in “My Fair Lady” which put her reputation on the line and was released in 1964.

1 September their divorce was announced.

Once Audrey had her second child she decided to give up film and be present with her child.

They separated in 1980 because he had gone back to his Playboy ways and divorced two years later.

She met the actor Robert in 1982 and later, fell in love simultaneously.

She volunteered as a UNICEF special ambassador. She had been auditioning for this 45 years. She would use her celebrity status to raise awareness and funds.

Audreys trip to Somalia was the one she created most impact. She would raise awareness and do 15 interviews a day. She managed to persuade the USA to duplicate their donations to UNICEF to more than $46 million.

After Audrey retrieved from Somalia she was experiencing severe abdominal pains. Tests revealed she had an advanced cancer leaving that Christmas to be her last at only 63 years old.
