Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna was born on February 12, 1794. His original name that he was born with was Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón. The place he was born in was Jalapa, Mexico.

In 1814, Antonio's´ mother, Manuela Pérez de Lebrón, died. He was only 20 years old at the time. Now it was only going to be his father, siblings, and himself from now on.

Antonio entered the Spanish Army at a pretty young age of 15. Even at the young age, Lopez never let age stop him. About 6 years after his mother died, Lopez quickly went through ranks, and making Colonel at the age of 26!

In the year 1825, Antonio got married to a young woman named, Inés García. When this happened, she was 14 years old and he was 31. They also had 2 sons, and 2 daughters together.

In 1829, Spain invaded by trying to retake Mexico, such as Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire. Luckily, Antonio kept that from happening. This event was one of Lopez's only military victories.

In 1833, Antonio Lopez was elected president of Mexico. He also in that year, became military captain. Lopez was president 6 times, but also president 5 times unofficially between 1833 and 1855. He got both jobs because of his great victory with the Spain invade.

The year 1838, was a life changing thing for Antonio. In that year, he had wounded his left leg, while in the battle with French forces. The wound ended up being too bad that he had to amputate his leg

After the 24 year anniversary of the lovely couple, unfortunately it came to an end. His wife, Inés García died in 1844 at the age of 33. That tragedy sadly ended that marriage.

In that same year, 1844, Lopez got remarried. He married a woman who went by the name, María Dolores de Tosta. This relationship lasted for a good 32 years.

In the year 1876, on the day June 21, Antonio de Padua María Severino López de Santa Anna y Pérez de Lebrón passed away. He died in Mexico City, Mexico at the age of 82. May he rest in peace.
