The battle of Fort Sumter was won by the south or the CSA. The south bombed the fort and waiting will the north surrendered. The battle took 36 hours. It was the first battle in the Civil War. This causes some lack in confidence for the north. -

The battle at Bull Run was won by the South or CSA. The south had better trained troupes and the south was over all better at the strategy then the north. At the battle some of the people from the north came to watch the battle. They had a picnic during the battle. One the battle started to go up the hill they were all killed. -
Shiloh, TN
Shiloh was the first battle won by the north or the USA. The north used strategy to cause the south to retreat. This was the bloodiest battle in the US at that time. The north starts to regain confidence once again. Helps the north find the south's weaker spots in the war. -
Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation, was a presidential proclamation issued by Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863. It changed the federal legal status of more than 3.5 million enslaved African Americans in the designated areas of the South from slave to free. He helped them start a new life as men and women and to be treated as individuals and not animals. -
Gettysburg, PA
Gettysburg was the turning point in the war. The north or USA won this battle. The south lost control of all areas during the battle which over all caused the north to come and take it. This battle lasted 3 days. Gettysburg was also a point where both sides helped each other. the north helped the dying at night both south and north. -
Assassination of Abraham Lincoln
On the 14 of April Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by stage actor John Wilkes Booth, while attending the play Our American Cousin at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C. He was shot in the head and died a few hours later. He was with his wife and guest in the presidential booth.
