On the 31st of August 1969, Mary Anne Schillaci gives birth to her youngest son, Andrew P. Cunanan in National City, San Diego, California.

Cunanan had told a few people he decided to move back to San Francisco, but he actually planned to visit his best friend Jeffrey and former lover David in Minneapolis.

Cunanan was visiting Minnesota at the time, and he had stayed at Trail’s apartment the night before Jeffrey’s murder. Andrew had called Trail on a Sunday evening to invite him over to Madson’s apartment. After arguing with Jeffrey, Andrew then beat Jeffrey to death and wrapped his body up in a rug.

Madson’s body showed no signs of self defense, but his only defensive wounds were in his fingers, which reveals that he could’ve raised his hands to try and block or protect himself from the gun which was in front of him.

Lee Miglin was found dead in the garage of his Gold Coast home on the morning of May 4. He had been bound with duct tape, stabbed more than 20 times with a screwdriver and had his throat cut open with a hacksaw. Police discovered that there were no signs of forced entry into the Miglin's home.

After Miglin’s death Andrew stole his Lexus car. Here you see a picture of Miglin’s garage where his Lexus should be. The car phone was activated and tracked down to southern New Jersey. Andrew somehow was alerted of the news about the car phone tracking when he decided to abondon the stolen Lexus. After he headed for William Reese.

It’s very possible that Cunanan killed Reese only for the purpose of taking his truck and not like any of his other murders where he had more personal reasons to kill his victims.

The manhunt for Andrew began on 12th of June, 1997. However, Andrew stayed in Miami very near the Versace mansion and somehow managed to not be found for about a month.

On July 10, Versace arrived in Miami to stay at his opulent mansion in the South Beach area. On the morning of July 15, he was returning from a walk when Cunanan approached him and shot him on the steps of his house. Cunanan fled the scene on foot. Reese’s stolen truck was found in a nearby parking garage, along with Cunanan’s clothes, a fake passport, and newspaper clippings detailing his murders.

Versace’s memorial service takes place in Milan. About 2,000 people attended this service
and scores of celebrities, including Princess Diana, Elton John, Naomi Campbell, and fashion power players like Giorgio Armani and Karl Lagerfeld. -
Cunanan shot himself in the mouth using the same gun he had used to kill David Madson, William Reese, and Gianni Versace. He left no suicide note or explanation for his crimes.
