    Andrea Vesalius
Andrea Vesalius was one of the many physicians of his age and at his time, anatomy and surgery was just a little over no importance. Vesalius, unlike many other physicians, believed that to understand anatomy, he needed to dissect a human body. After a long time, he was allowed to exam on executed criminal bodies. He had a more better advantage against Galen as he could see the real human body and had less errors against Galen who experimented on animals.

William Harvey was a Cambridge student and was taught by Fabricius, a famous physician. Fabricius was unable to understand why the human body had one-way valves. On the other hand, Harvey predicted that the heart was a pump propelling the blood in a circulation. Like Vesalius, he worked on criminal bodies. His careful observation enabled him ito disprove Galen’s theory replacing it with the theory that blood was pumped in a circulation due to the heart. His work received a lot of criticism but w

    Cladius Galen
Claudius Galen was a Greek doctor, who developed his interest in the anatomy of the human body while working at a gladiators school. He dissected animals to understand how the human body worked. His results showed that the blood was produced by the liver and was used up by the heart. Even though, his theories were wrong, his theories were believed by the Catholic Church which made it near to impossible for the other scientists to argue against it.
