    Daniel Boone's LIfe

    Daniel Boone was an American pioneer, explorer, woodsman, and frontiersman. After four months in Shawnee captivity, Boone escaped suddenly during a wild turkey hunt. He covered the 160 miles to Boonesborough in four days. He looked like an Indian, and the men who had escaped from the Shawnee had told of his cooperation with the Shawnee. Boone took a group beyond the settlement's walls and negotiated with Chief Blackfish.

    Sacagawea was a young Shoshone Indian girl who was chosen to accompany Lewis and Clark on their expedition. She helped in many ways by being able to speak Shoshone and find edible food. She was able to get Lewis and Clark horses for the expedition. She had two children. Sacagawea died at age 25 from a disease.

    Jedediah smith, born in 1798, a fur trapper and owner of a fur taping company, was the first American to enter California from the east. Jedediah smith was one of the best trappers in the Rocky Mountains. On Jedediah smiths second exposition, he was savagely attacked by a giant grizzly bear, crushing his ribs and tearing most of his face off. Jedediah smiths companion had to sew his face back on.

    The Cheyenne were a tribe of the Great Plains American Indians. They allied with the Arapaho, they also pushed the Kiowa to the Southern Plains. They consist of two tribes, Tsitsistas, and the Sotaeo'o. The name Cheyenne means "Little Cree". Their language is part of the Algonquin language, and is still spoken by many.

    The Shoshone were a band of Indians that lived in Utah and Idaho.
    The Shoshone were hunters and gathers. They had one massacre and that was the bear River massacre. They also had a trail of tears called the Lemhi trail of tears.
    The Shoshone were a small tribe consisting of about 8,000 people.
    When the white people traveled through and settled in Shoshone land they made friends and some contributed to the Mormon religion.

    The Trails of Tears was about the Eastern Indians and colonist moving west toward Mississippi. When the colonist were moving the Indians they, treated the Indians brutally. 3,500 of the Creek Indians died in Alabama because of sickness. Many Indian families where ripped apart, and many were transported in chains.

    Crazy horse was born near the black falls of South Dakota. His death occurred soon after the Sioux war. (1876-1877) By his mid-teens, crazy horse was a full-fledged warrior. As he matured his statue as a warrior grew as well He was born 1840 died 1877. He was a military leader. When he was 13 he would steal horse from the crow. He fought other tribes but the biggest fight was the u.s army.

Then married his wife four years after west point and stayed together with Elizabeth bacon Custer. Then he went to the civil war and got promotes quite quickly. Then in the indian war he died in the battle of bull run even though he did not follow orders.

    US Civil War

    he civil war was caused by years of tension growing between the north and the south states. The tension finally blew up into the civil war after Abraham Lincoln was elected as president and banned slavery. Seven southern states left the union and formed the confederate states. The civil war ended with the union winning and all slaves being set free.
