    The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war. The French and Indian war was between the French and the English. The French sided with the Huron Indians and the English sided with the iroguis Indians.

    The Indians Surrendered to the Europeans in the Pontiac's Rebellion
    In 1764 the Indians ran out of gunpowder and guns because they no longer had their European supplier so they were forced to surrender.

    This act required the colonies to provide housing and supplies for the British soldiers.

    In March 1765 Parliament passed the Stamp Act which required colonists to pay a tax on almost all printed materials. It was the first time that Parliament had imposed a direct tax on the colonies.

    Colonists in Boston hurled rocks and snowballs at British Soldiers. They also yelled at them to shoot so they did and killed 5 people.

    General Burgoyne marched his army from Canada to New York to invade the Hudson Valley but he fell into a trap at Saratoga. Burgoyne surrendered in October.

    the British took the soldiers out of Boston becuase of the committees the colonists made like the committee of correspondence.

    The British put direct taxes on the colonist's tea so the colonists did not know. When they found out, they dressed up as Indians and boarded 3 British ships. There they dupmed the tea on the ships in the Boston Harbor.

    Delegates from every colony except Georgia met in Philedelphia. They had the idea of "America".

    Gage provocted the battle by sending troops to arrrest Hancock and Adadms in Lexington but then 70 Patriots gathered on the Lexington Green. Then someone fired a shot, "the shot heard around the world".

    Common Sense was a book created by Thomas Paine. The book contained radical ideas of idependence from Britain and the union of the new states. Some of these radical ideas were used in the Declaration of Independence.

    It was drew upon Paine's ideas of American Independence and included the idea that all men are created equal.
  • Monmouth

    The British left Philedelphia and went to New Jersey and New York. On they way they fought off Washington's pursuit at Monmouth Courthouse.

    Washington marched his troops to Yorktown. There he trappped the British troops because he planned the moment just right so that they were stuck and couldnt evacuate by sea because a French fleet was coming in at the same time.

    In 1782 a new administration including Ben Franklin wanted to make peace so they negotiated a treaty. So in 1783 the Treaty of Paris was signed. It recognized American Independence. and gave big boundaries to the United States.
