  • Commitee of Corresponding Established

    The Commitee was established in Boston. It was charged with rallying oppostition to the recently enacted currency act.
  • Stamp Act

    Passed by British parliment, it was a tax imposed on all American collonists, it required them to pay a tax on every peice of printed paper they used.
  • Protest of Stamp Act

    When the Stamp Act was used the colonists made petitions in protests, harrased officers, caused property damage, and even refused to pay the taxes.
  • Gaspee Affair

    The Gaspee, American boat, chased the packet boat Hannah, and ran it into shallow waters. The sons of liberty boarded the ship, looted and then burned it.
  • British Troops Pull out of Virginia

    The British were sick of being there and were growing tired of the poeple there.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea party was a group of men who dressed up as Indians and dumped 1 milion dollars wearth of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Coercive Acts

    A series of laws constisting of Boston port act, Massachuetts government act, administration of justice act, and quatering act.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first Congress mt in Carpnter Hill, Philedelphia. Its goal was to seek resoultion with England and defend colonial rights.
  • Paul Rever's Ride

    Paul was sent by Dr. Joesph Warren to Lexington MA to warn Sam Adams and John Hancock that the British troops were marching to arrest them.
  • Battles of lexington and Concord

    They were the first military engagements of the American Revolutionary was. It marked an open armed conflict between the U.S and Britain.
  • Quebec Act

    Enlarged the bounders of Quebec in Canada.
  • Second Continental Congress

    This called for the colonies to send representativesto a meeting where they would dicuss their freedom.
  • George Washington Appointed General

    George Washington was given control of the American army the day before the Battle at Bunker Hill.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    When 2,400 Redcoats landed near Boston at Bunker Hill. They were met by 1,500 American troops.
  • The Olive Branch Petition

    Was the final letter sent to the king to try to get him to help the Colonies. It was a peaceful letter asking for the king to reconsider his acts.
  • Proclamation for Suppressing Rebellion and Sedition

    It was the response to the news of the Battle of Bunker hill. It declared the colonies in a state of open rebellion.
  • British Evacuate Boston

    John Thomas lead 800 soldiers and 1200 workers to Dorchester heights. The British planed to use there ships to help fight against the patriots but a storm helped the patriots set up for war. The British had to retreat and leave.
  • Common Sense Published

    This challenged the authority of the British royal monarch. Written by Thomas Paine.
  • Declaration of Independance

    It stated the U.S was a country no longer ruled by Britain.
  • Writing of the Declaration on Independance

    Jefferson began work on June 11. The final draft was submitted on June 28 and released to the public on July 4th, 1776.
