    Protest of Stamp Act was a direct tax imposed by the British Parliament specifically on the colonies of British America. The act required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamp paper made in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp.

    Boston Tea party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, against the tax policy of the British governments and the East India Company that controlled all the tea imported to the colonies. On December 6, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into the Boston Harbor.

    First Continental Congress was a group of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies. (All of them except for Georgia). They met on September 5, 1774, at Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in response to the Intolerable Acts by the British Parliament.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere’s ride took place on April 18, 1775. Paul was requested to ride into Lexington to warn Samuel Adams and John Handdcok that the British were coming to arrest them. Samuel and John both got away, and Paul was held in captivity for a short amount of time.

    Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements in the American Revolution. Fought on April 9, 1775, in Lexington and Concord. The battles marked the outbreak of open armed conflict between Great Britain and the Thirteen colonies.

    The Proclamation for Suppressing Rebellion and Sedition was the response of George III to the news of the Battle of the Bunker Hill. Issued August 23, 1775, it declared the American colonies in a state of open rebellion.

    The Second Continental Congress took place on May 10, 1775. It managed the colonial war effort, and moved incrementally towards independence.

    Common Sense Published was a pamphlet that was written by Thomas Paine. First published on January 10, 1776 at the beginning of the American Revolution.
  • British Evacuate Boston

    The British pulled out of Boston on March 17, 1776. General Washington pointed cannons on a hilltop, pointing them at the British navy and homes they had in Boston. The British decided not to have anymore casualties, so they evacuated.
  • British Pulled Out of Virginia

    British Pulled out of Virginia on October 17-19, 1781. This happened during the battle in Yorktown Virginia when the british had limited weapons and casualties. They thought more help would come but they did not arrive on time so the British General tried to escape but failed to do so. On October 19, 1781 British leader Cornwallis signed the surrender agreement and they fled.

    The Writing of the Declaration of Independence happened when The Continental Congress met in Philadelphia with the intention of voting for the independence from England. the committee composed of John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman. On July 2, The Congress voted for independence and released the document to the public on July 4.
