    the french and Indian war happened from 1756 to 1763. it was a conflict between Britain and France. France had repeatedly been in conflict with British colonies in america. the fighting started around 1754 with the french winning. Britain officially declared war in 1756 and started winning in 1757. Spain joined France in fighting Britain. the war came to an end with the treaty of Paris. George Washington fought in the war.

    a statement issued by Britain that said where colonists could and could not settle. it said that British colonists could settle from the Atlantic ocean to the Appalachian mountains. British colonists were not allowed to settle west of that because it was native american land. it also said that the only people allowed to travel west were licensed traders.
