    The stamp act was made because Britain had been in debt by a lot of money by fighting the French. Benjamin Franklin eventually overturned this but it only made things worse.

    Parliament wanted to show who was in charge and put a tax on Americans that imported goods from Great Britain. Americans eventually started to boycott British goods.

    Tensions began to form between 200 colonists and 7 British troops which lead to the British Soldiers to open fire on the colonists which was a big propaganda tool the colonists could use to their advantage.

    The American Colonists wanted to be able to trade with any country they wanted but the British did not want that and they basically told them that they had to trade with the British East India Company which the colonists showed they did not like that rule.
