French & Indian War
The French and Indian War began when the French and the Native Americans teamed up to seek revenge on the British. Although the Native Americans and the French put up a good fight for 7 years, the British defeated them. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was when British parliament put taxes on every item that included paper on the colonists. They taxed them to pay for the 7 years war that had took place. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre happened because a group of colonists were provoking British soldiers due to the taxes they placed in them. The Soldiers defended themselves by opening fire on the colonists and killing 5 men. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest by the Sons of Liberty against the British. The Sons of Liberty dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were four acts or rules out into place by the British parliament to get back at the colonists. -
First Continental Congress
The first Continental Congress meeting was created because of the protests again the Intolerable Acts. There ended up being 56 delegates to represent all the colonies but Georgia. -
Paul Revere & Battle of Lexington and Concord
Paul Revere Road all the way on his horse to Lexington to warn the colonist that the British were coming to Concord to fight. At Lexington, the first shot was fired and many more followed. Eight Americans have died from the battle in Lexington. In Concorde, the British were outnumbered and were forced to surrender. -
Britain formed alliances with Patriot slaves
There was a proclamation add that explained how slaves could become free by joining forces with the British. Of course majority of the slaves participated in this to become free. -
“Give me Liberty or give me death” speech
Patrick Henry gave a speech that explained how a war against Britain was going to happened one way or another. Additionally, he fired up the colonists by saying the famous quote, “ Give me liberty or give me death.” -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was a tough battle in the American Revolutionary War. The colonists had lost, but they proved that they could stand with the British army. This gave them confidence for the next war. -
George Washington crosses Delaware River
On Christmas night Washington took his troops across the Delaware River to surprise attack the German troops that were helping the British. -
Declaration of Independence
The goal of the Declaration of Independence was to rally troops, gain allies, and or make it known that the colonists wanted to start a new country.
