On April 18th, 1775, Paul Revere rode from Charleston to Lexington to warn the people that the British were marching from Boston to seize the colonial army at Concord. En route, the British military consisting of 700 soldiers were met at Lexington Green by 77 local minutemen and others. although it unclear who shot the first shot, the end result consisted of 8 Americans dead. Meanwhile at Concord the British were met by hundreds of militiamen.
