    The Scarlet Letter is about a woman named Hester Prynne. She has committed the crime of adultery in now she has to wear a Scarlet Letter A on her chest. Her Lover Arthur Dimmesdale remains unidentified until the end of the book and her husband Roger Chillingworth seeks revenge on her mysterious lover. This book is set back in the Puritan settlements in which adultery was a very high crime to pay.

    Segregation was the separation between whites and blacks which os shown in Of Mice and Men when one of the black workers is separated from the other workers who are white. Segregation ended during the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

    World War I began in 1914, after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and lasted until 1918. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan, and the United States. Thanks to new technologies and trench warfare, World War I saw unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction. By the time the war was over and the Allied Powers claimed victory, more than 16 million people were dead.

The poem is about a man who went to a gala party during WW1 and met a bunch of women in which he would not talk to because he was afraid of they might think of him. Gatsby meets Daisy at Nicks house and they begin to start a relationship. In the end, Daisy and Gatsby are driving and hit a woman named Myrtle and kill her and Gatsby takes the blame and is killed by her husband.

    Of Mice and Men was written by John Steinbeck, and is about two plantation workers named George who is a smart man, and Lennie a heavy muscle type of guy. Throughout the book, Lennie has a habit of killing little creatures such as rats, While one day after accidentally killing his puppy he kills his bosses wife while she tried to comfort him. When the other workers see this Lennie runs, George and the other workers go looking for him and George finds him and comforts him before shotting him.

By the end of the war Germany was split up between the allied powers and Japan was hit with the first nuke and surrendered, and Italy backed out of the war during there revolution.

Throughout the book, Holden struggles with his identity, how he feels lost, and his connection to others. Holden has gone through a lot in his life with his brother dying of cancer and his parents sending him off to boarding school in which he got expelled for his grades. In the end, Holden refuses to say what happens after an event but will return to school next fall.

Scout's dad named Atticus is a lawyer and tension heat up when he is defending a black man who is accused of raping a white woman named Mayella, and at the end of the case, the man is sentenced to prison. In the end, Boo Radley helps Scout and shows his face.
