    On Puritanism they wrote about religious matters. On Rationalism they wrote about political crisis matters. These are intertwinned, not only because they happened around the same period but because they also "opposed" each other. Rationalism happened during the "Enlightment Era" which was when the world started questioning religion and starting looking for more reasonable or "rationable" anwsers. This is what mostly began science, math, etc.
