    The War to End All Wars
    WW1 was known as the war to end all wars because of the great slaughter and destruction it caused. The cause of this war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, along with his wife. The war was fought between Germans, Russians, British, Italians, Americans and others.

    America joins WW1
    After the senate had a vote to declare war, it was obvious that America was going to fight against the Germans. One of the reasons why America wanted to join was because of the Zimmerman Telegram. America lasted till the end of the war, about a year and 7 months.
  • Women get to Vote

    Women get to Vote
    After years of women wanting to get their rights to vote, it finally became true. It was passed by Congress in June 4, 1919, it was finally ratified a year later in August. It took lots of peaceful protest to get to this moment.
  • The Wall Street Bombing

    The Wall Street Bombing
    The Wall Street Bomb killed 38 people and injured many others. A horse-drawn cart caused the explosion in front of the J.P. Morgan & Co. offices. Nobody knows who it is, people say it could be Edwin P. Fischer whom was a layer. 30 died on spot and 8 died later on. This is one of the things 23 Wall Street will carry in their history.

    On September 30, 1927 Babe Ruth set a record that lasted 34 years. He made his 60th home run. This was the highlight of the 1927 season

    On March the 4th, Herbert Hoover becomes the 31st President of America. People say would mostly blame him for bringing things up such as Hoovervilles and Hoover Blankets. Hoover competed against Al Smith.

    Black Tuesday is also known for when the stock market plunges. The way investors played the stock market caused black Tuesday. There was also a new way that stocks were being purchased, it was known as buying a margin

    The bonus army was made up of 17000 veterans who gathered with others to demand their cash redemption for their service. They were then forced to leave by the current army at that time. The government forced them to leave by threatening with bayonets and tear gas. They also burned tanks to remove protesters.

    Franklin Roosevelt becomes president
    Franklin ran against Republicans and Socialist. Hoover wanted to go for another term but after what he failed to do, of course nobody else was going to support him. So Franklin is elected and he really does help with the great depression.

    The first hundred days of Franklin's time in office begins. over 15 new laws were enacted to help stop the great depression. With Franklin's help, his first 100 days were really has a huge meaning.

    The invasion of Poland
    On the first of September 1939, WW2 is announced because Hitler invaded Poland. This act was against the Treaty of Versailles since they lost WW1. Hitler wanted to invade Poland so that the Germans could have a living space but British nor France were convinced.

    After Japan attacks Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, American finally joins WW2. Around 2,400 Soldiers died that day, along with over 1,000 injured. The attack was a surprise but the America and Japan have been wanting to fight against each other for a while.

    The Battle of Midway was an attack from the Japanese to the Americans. America already knew the attack was coming since they were able to break their codes. America was outnumbered and the Japanese were expected to win, yet America won. The man who commanded the attack on Pearl Harbor was the one who ordered the attack on Midway

    The Battle of Bulge
    The Battle of Bulge was an important war in WW2 because its considered Hitlers last offensive move. Winston Churchill calls this war "The Greatest American Battle of the War." This battle lasted 6 weeks. Its said that the weather patterns played a major role in the battle's outcome.

    Hitler commits suicide
    On April the 30th, Adolf Hitler commits suicide in his underground bunker. Hitler also died along with his wife whom he married the day before. Their bodies where found in the bunker with a bullet hole in Hitlers temple
  • Victory in Europe!

    Victory in Europe!
    WW2 came to an end after the Axis powers surrendered. This happened around a week after Hitler committed suicide. This day is know for VE Day, Victory in Europe.
