  • Computer

    Computers where invented and they made a huge inpacet on the economy and life becuase, it was a lot easyer to do and figure things out. Early electronic computers, developed around the 1940’s, were the size of a large room and consumed huge amounts of electricity.
  • Car

    Karl Benz was the inventor of the modern automobile. The Car was invented to help people get to places much faster. The car was a amazing invention and has come so far in the past years.
  • Frisbee invented

    A baker named William Russel Frisbie invented the frisbee in the 1870s. The invention came from a group of people throwing about old pie pans to other people. Sooner or later the made a game out of this activity.
  • Telephone

    First patented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. Telephones were a new and great in vention because, it enabled people to be able to talk to one another even when they are not in the same visility. The telephone was first introduced into At&t in 1963.
  • The Great Migration

    The great Migration was a movement of 6 million African Americans out of the Southern United States to the Northeast, Midwest, and West. The Great Migration started becuase, of racial volience and discrimination against African Americans in the south. There was about 1.6 migrants who left the south to move to the northern area.
  • 18th amendment

    The 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution banned the manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol. This amendment was made becuase, gangs and other people were doing under ground sales with the alcohol that was legal. Also the crime rate when up.
  • 19th amendment

    Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. This amendment changes life becuase, it gave the right for women to put in there own thought on voting.
  • Emergency Quota Act

    The Emergency Quota Act restricted the number of immigrants admitted from any country annually to three percent of the number of people from that same country living in the United States as of the U.S. Census of 1910.This act meant that only people of Northern Europe who had similar cultures to that of America were likely to get in. The excuss that they came up with was that Goverment wanted to protect its culture.
  • Immigration Act 1924

    The Immigration Act was a act the only allowed a ceirtin about of immagrants being able to be admitted from any country. Immigration was to two percent of the total number of people of each nationality in the United States as of the 1890 national census. It completely excluded immigrants from Asia.
  • Television

    The word television was not used until 1900 at the World's Fair in Paris. The first televised image with moving images was in 1926. Over many years the telivison has been updated and changed.
  • Black Tuesday

    The Wall Street Crash of 1929. witch is alos known as the Great Crash.This is the date of the most famous stock market crash in history. Stocks lost 13% of their value on Black Tuesday. The date is considered the beginning of the Great Depression.
  • Black Thursday

    The day the famous stock market crash of 1929 began, when the stock market began its plummet. For a couple days the stock market wasnt doing so good whitch lad up to Black tuesday.After that the stock market was destroyed.
  • Radio

    The radio is the wireless transmission of signals through free space by electromagnetic radiation of a frequency significantly below that of visible light. The radio was invented by a Italian inventor and radio pioneer named Guglielmo Marcon.
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt elected President

    President Franklin led the United States during the Great Deppression and World War 2. President Franklin wa the 32nd president to be electied. He was a dominant leader of the Democratic Party and the only American president elected to more than two terms,
  • 21st amendment

    The 21st Amendment to the Constitution reversed the 18th Amendment, which had made alcoholic beverages illegal. The 21st Amendment was unique in that it remains the only amendment ratified by the convention method rather than the state legislatures.
  • 1933

    This was around the time when president Franklin D. Roosevelt was about to become president and the United States was in a big banking problem.The banking system was unable to keep up with the panicked withdrawals that customers were making from their bank accounts, rendering banks incapable of providing money many customers had deposited.
  • Hoover Dam constructed

    It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression when President Frankin D Roosevelt was in office. At one point the Hoover Dam ws also known as the Boulder Dam. The pourpose of this dam is power, flood control, water storage, regulation, and recreation.
  • GI Bill of Rights

    The Servicemen's Readjustment Act or also known as the GI bill of rights. This bill was a law that provided a range of benefits for returning World War 2 veterans. You had to be on active duty during the war years for at least ninety days to recive this benifit.
  • Internet

    A single person did not create the Internet that we know and use today. The initial idea is credited as being Leonard Kleinrock's. The internet today is a huge help to the world becuase it is a huge help to find and look up things.
