  • Telephone

    The invention of the telephone was one of the greatest inventions in history because everyone in developed countries has a telephone and use them for business. You can call anyone and you can make calls to any country.

    The invention of the car was in 1894 and there were only a few models of cars then, but now you can get cars in all different sizes, shapes, colors...They will take you pretty much any where you want to but the only downfall to the invention of the car is that is runs off of gasoline and gas is very expensive.

    The Great Migration

    The Great Migration was a huge thing in the United States because more than 6 million African-Americans immigrated from the Southern places into the Northern places because of segregation.

    Ku Klux Klan

    The Ku Klux Klan was a Klan of white christian people who were racist against people who did not have the same skin color or beliefs as them. They would go around terrorizing african-americans and even killing them.
  • 18th Amendment

    The 18th Amendent was when prohibition happened and the manufacturing or selling of alcohol was illegal.
  • 21st Amendment

    The 21st amendment un-did the prohibition law(18th Amendment), so prohibiton was over and alcohol was legal.
  • 19th Amendent

    The 19th amendment makes a law that says no person in the United States can be denied the right to vote because of their sex.
  • Emergency Quota Act

    This was the same as the Immigration Restriction Act because it restricted immigration into the United States.
  • Immigration Act of 1924

    The Immigration Act of 1924 restricted immigration to only 2% of the countries people that were already in the United States.
  • Television

    The television was introduced in 1925 originally in Black and White and then later switched over to color. The television can play movies, shows and video games.
  • Black Thursday

    Black Thrusday was the greatest stock market crash in the United States history and it lost 11% of its value on this day.
  • Black Tuesday

    Black Tuesday lost 12% of the value and was not even a week after Black Thursday when it happened. At this time, people thought the economy would never recover because it was such a huge drop.

    Construction of the Hoover Dam

    The Construction of the Hoover Dam started in 1931 but was known as the Boulder Dam and then Franklin Roosevelt re-named it the Hoover Dam.
  • Election of Franklin D. Roosevelt

    32nd president of the United States, FDR, was very much loved and beat Hoover for his second term because he carried the United States out of the depression and did everything he could to do that.
  • State of Economy in 1933

    The United States economy in 1933 was not good because we were in debt and to try to get some money we passed the "Economy Act" which lower veterans benefits and salaries of federal workers.
  • Computer

    The first computer that was invented and introduced to the public, was the size of a room and took 3 times the amount of energy as laptops do now.
  • Frisbee

    The frisbee was first seen tossed back and forth but as a cake pan and when the couple tossing it was offered 25 cents for it, they made a business selling "frisbee's".
  • GI Bill of Rights

    This bill gave veterans returning from WWII benefits. They could take out a loan, not have to pay for an education...
  • Internet

    The internet was being worked on the same time computers were being invented which connects networks together and you can do look up anything on the internet or handle your bank account.
  • Radio

    The radio transmits electromagnetic signals and it broadcasts music, comentary of sports and many things.
