The First American Settlement- Jamestown
The first settlement in America was founded in 1607 and called Jamestown. It was charted by King James 1 thus bearing the name Jamestown. 105 passengers in various ships led the expedition and were the first American settlers. -
Starving Time at Jamestown
During the first few years, life was rough in Jamestown. A drought had set in and the colony was struggling to find food and the Powhatan Indians had set a siege upon the colony. -
First Slaves Arrive \ The House of Burgesses
Originally captured by Portuguese sailors, the first boat of African Slaves arrived in Jamestown. Also, Governor George Yeardley came to Jamestown and set up the first real colonial legislature known as the House of Burgesses. -
Mayflower Compact and Plymouth Colony Founded
The Mayflower Compact was basically a treaty between the Puritans and others abord the Mayflower. The Founding of Plymouth Colony expanded American colonization. -
Connecticut and Rhode Island Colonies Founded \ Harvard College Founded
Thomas Hooker founded Connecticut Colony in 1636 and Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams in 1636. Harvard College is also founded, being the oldest school in America eventually becoming Harvard University. -
Pequot War
Many Native Americans were sold into slavery by the English Settlers into the West indies. -
Anglo-Powhatan Wars
The War was fought between the English Settlers in Jamestown and the Algonquin Indians of the Powhatan Confederacy. -
Colonial Growth
The population is estimated at around 50,000 colonists, and Parliament acted creating an economic embargo on the colonies. -

The Anglo-Dutch war fought over the control of the Atlantic ocean and trade routes. Also, New Jersey and New York are now proprietary colonies of England. -
King Philips War
Also known as Metacome's war, This was a battle between the Indians and English settlers. -
Bacon's Rebellion
In 1676 Bacon led a rebellion known as Bacon's Rebellion in which he tried to overthrow the Colonial Government. He was killed in 1677. -

William Penn establishes Pennsylvania. -
Salem Witch Trials
People started doing supernatural things and many believed they were witches so many trials were held and many innocent lives were killed. But some admitted to being a witch.
