  • Britian founded Jamestown

    Britian founded Jamestown
    British colonists founded the Jamestown Settlement. The colony was named after King James I of England. Jamestown,Virginia had around 14,000 native inhabitants and was the first successful american settlement.
  • American Revolution

    American Revolution
    The Revolutionary War was a response to the Stamp act in 1763. The colonists thought it was unconstitutional, and the British said it had a right to tax the colonists. France, Spain, and the Dutch Republic quickly joined the war in 1776. On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was written and drafted by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston. The British lost, and the Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1783.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana. The Louisiana Purchase is so far the largest territorial gain in U.S. history, stretching from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains. This purchase doubled the size of the United States!
  • Texas Revolution

    The Texas Revolution, also known as the Texas War of Independence, was the conflict between the Mexico goverment and Texas colonists. The Texans won, and they became the Republic of Texas after the final battle on April 21, 1836. The goverment didn't go well, so Texas annexed into the United States.

    The Civil War was a deadly war that killed many people. The two sides were the Union (supporting the goverment) and the Confederates (rebels) . The Union wanted to remove slavery in the United States, but the Confederates wanted there to be slavery. The Union won!

    World War I was a global war in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and ended on 11 November 1918. This war broke out because of the policies of several European empires. The United States Did not join the war until 1917.

    The Great Depression began with the Wall Street Crash and rapidly spread worldwide. The stock market crash marked the beginning of a decade of high unemployment, low profits, and low economic growth. Americans invented the game Monopoly to help Americans fell rich. The great depression ended in 1939.

    On 1 September 1939, Adolf Hitler and the Nazis faked a Polish attack on a small German radio station in order to justify a German invasion of Poland. Later, Hitler declared war on Poland. France and Britain had a defensive pact with Poland. This forced France and Britain to declare war on Germany, The United States joined, and was quickly known as a world power.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the Moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    The day of 9/11 was planned by Osama Bin Laden. Two highjacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center. One crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Another was headed for another place, but the passengers took over and the plane crashed into a small field.
