Congress began wonder if Lee's actions should happen. They were conserened on how they woud become independent. Finally, they took a vote and Richards actions would be followed through and the colonies became independant.

When British left America Washington sent troops to New York thinking they would come back. A few months later. The british attacked with a massive army. On Christmas day America attacked the Patriots and defeteated them in New York.

The British had more than 100 ships off the shore America so there was no way they could trade anything or defeat the British. Instead America takes over one ship at a time slowly taking down the British.

The British aren't doing well in the war so they decide to take a different aproach. They head to the south were thaere are many Loyalists. At first they are succecding but soon General Charles leads a very small army to defend the south. It was one of the bloddiest battles of all time.

Washington puts a new general in charge named Nathanael Greene. He is smart so instead of attacking in battles they know they will lose they run around the country wearing out the British to a point were they are so weak they are barely able to continue on.

After six years of fighting British leaders begin to think it might not be such a bad thing if they become Indeendant. So the British surrenders leaving America and heading back to London.

America and British finally sign a peace treaty. The peace treaty gives America independce and rights to land and slaves to be returned.
