This was a war that was against the communist government in North Vietnam and South Vietnam and its main ally the USA. The war was over once the United States forces withdrew and north Vietnam absorbed the south into communism.

    This was a failed invasion by the CIA and President Kennedy. To attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro and his communist government. The CIA had trained Cubans to attempt to get to Castro and overthrow his government.
  • Cuban missile crisis

    This was a standoff between America, Russia, and Cuba. The Cuban government had built several missile bases. The Russians were going to supply the missiles to Cuba. So America had made a naval blockade to keep the missiles away from Cuba.
  • Kent State University Shooting

    There was a protest outside of the university and they were protesting about the Vietnam war. The National Guard had opened fire on the crowd and killed four while injuring nine. In the aftermath of this, a student-led strike force had forced the closure of colleges and universities across the country.

    This amendment lowered the voting age to 18. The age before this amendment was 21. Surrounding the events around this time we had needed more people to be able to vote about what the country was going to do in the future.

    These were people from President Nixon's reelection campaign that broke into the Watergate Complex. They had tried to tap telephones and steal documents. Pres. Nixon had taken steps to try and coverup the scandal but he had resigned facing impeachment anyways.

    They were an organization that sought to start an Islamic government through law and order alongside an adaptation of their law. The leader of this organization was Osama bin Laden who was a evil leader who had attacked the USA many times and was very disruptive to our life here in America.

    This was the first large banking scandal of the 1980s and 1990s. and had resulted in the thousands of savings and loan banks closing resulting in billions lost and many Americans very upset.

    these were two terrorist bomb attack by al-Qaeda that was intended to kill Marines in Aden, Yemen. It is the first attack on the United States by Al-Qaeda. It was unseccessful.
