summery part one
In "always a catch" by Peter Richmond the main charactor, jack lives in upper manhatten with his stepmom, grace, and his father. He is pressured into going to Oakhurst Hall a private school in New Hampshire by his dad who also went there. When Jack goes to the school he is expexted to take part in the music program. When Jack is about to sign up for the music program when he decides to go out for football, a sport he has never played other than in the parking lot of the giants game. -
summery part two
Jack is expected to play junior varsity football when he gets moved up to varsity. Jack and his roomate also have a band that are planning to play during the yearend assembly, with out permisson. This best game morning of the assemblt jack is playing for the championship in football against their rivals. Jack had his best game of the season with his first touchdown. Jack was alset to get the game winning catch when he thought his friend Will should have the game winning catch -
Summery part three
Once Jack let Will catch the final touchdown pass it was time for the year end assembly. When it was time for Jacks band to go on the stage, he got nevous and started regretting his actions. When Jack went on stage the principal got up-set, but he could not do anything because it was on live television. Once Jacks band got off stage the crowd applaused and the crowd loved it becuase the assembly was only classical music except for Jacks band. Jack went home with his dad untill football next year -
Jack chose to play football
Jack was suppose to be going to Oakhurst Hall for the piano, He ended up switching to play jv football which turned into varsity football. -
When Jack met Will
When Jack met Will, Jack was lost and had just, by accidentlly, caught a football. Will showed Jack to his room. -
Jack and the band
Jack and his bad was him and his roomate with a coupleof other guys. Jack thought the band was great and they even had there own song. -
the first day of football
Jack was number 34 for jv football and he didnt know what to do at first because the only place he had seen a football was at the parking lot of the giants games. -
the first day of piano lessons
Since Jack had gone to play football, he had not been practicing the piano anymore. the hopper (Jacks piano teacher) had gotten very up-set at Jack since he was out of tune. -
When jack got offered sterroids
Zowitzki and Jack were in the locker room when he told him to come up to his room. Zowitzki offered Jack sterroids Jack took 3 bottles, not looking to use them. -
Caroline
Caroline and jack have a special relationship and Jack is always looking to talk to her in his free time. Caroline and Jack sit next to eachother at lunch and met initially on the first day -
the chamionship game
Jack was ready for the last game of the season against there rivals essex. That day it was cold with the ground rock solid, somebody brought Jack sneakers so he couldnt slip. Jack had his biggest game of the season with a touchdown. -
the semester ending concert
jack was ready to make his run up to the stage, but he was nervous and regretting even trying to break the rules and go on stage. When his band got on stage the crowd loved the turn in music from classic to up beat and modern. When they were done they got a standing ovation. Jacks dad had suprised him by being there watching the football game and then the concert. he was proud and that was all that mattered to Jack. -
My reactions to the book
i thought the book was very good and was a fast read becuase it kept you wanting to see what was on the next page. because of this i would recomend to everyone if you like football a little to read this it realates to real life and is overall very interesting.
