    Eadweard Muybridge made a bet that while a horse was running in full speed all of there legs would be in the air. While proofing it they realized that the pictures looked lie they were moving. So the concept of film was invented.

    Thomas Edison invented a kinetoscope this invention would allow people to see motion pictures but only one person could see them at a time. Edison thought this would make him more money than having a group of people seeing the same film. Around this time Edison ran a film monopoly around this time.

    Lumiére Brothers made multiple short film from 30 to 60 seconds. They would use a projector to show an audience instead of one person unlike Thomas Edison. They were able to do this because they were in France so Edison couldn't do anything about it.

    Nickelodean had started to grow in popularity. The number of of vistors went up to 22 million. Within the next 5 years the numbers double and they gained a huge profit off of it.

    Earlier on making films were way harder than they are now. Thomas Edison had a company that would destroy the equipment of people who would try to make a film. This would have film creators to live in California just in case Edison found out about the film so they can flee to Mexico.

    Edison never wanted to credit the stars of the films because he feared they wanted to get paid more so he wouldn't have to pay the actors more. Other film makers would they wanted them to be famous to promote movies One of the most popular actors to come out of this was Charlie Chaplin.

    The modern film was nothing compared to the past. As time advance we had gain CGI and had gain better quality in film and longer length. What we see as film making has change a lot over the time.
