He had planned with Anwar Awlaki and Al-Asiri to detonate the bomb when the plane was flying. Thankfully, the bomb had not detonated and he was arrested when the plane landed. AQAP has taken full responsiibility for the incident. Since then, the Underwear Bomber has been sentenced to four life sentences in jail.
