Prince Henry never went on expeditions. He did do many route planning in 1444. He intensified the exploration of africa. He sent 30 to 40 ships on missions.

Bartholomue Dias he traveled from the River Tagus on his voyage around Africa. Then he traveled to the Indies with two armed caravels and one supply ship. The voyage lasted a year and four months.

Christopher Columbus set sale in 1492. They eventually made one stop then after a while shipmates got tired. Columbus said if they didn't find land in three days they would turn back. Two days went by and they found land. The land was San salvador he thougth he landed in India and got the people Indians

It was a treaty for Spanish and Portugese explorers to clear up confusion between land in the new world. Portugal was ad because Spain had more land than they did. So Portugal and Spain had to re-negotiate.

In 1499 Amerigo Vespucci sailed form Spain with four ships commanded by Alonso de ojeda who sailed with Columbus on his second voyage. Twenty four days went by and they found land northern coast of South America.

Set on an expedition by King Manuel the first. He had 13 ships along with him. He was following Vasco da Goma route that Vasco took 3 years earlier.

In 1504 Hernan Cortez boarded a ship commanded by Alonso Quintero, departing from the west. He was very ambitious more than once he tried to sneak of the ship. Though he was not very succesful.

He set sail with Francisco de Almedia. In 1511 he fought to conquer Melaka. In 1519 he and his crew set sale for a voyage around the world.

Francisco sets sail with Alonzo de Ojeda. During their travels they founded a city named San Sabastian. Francisco was the first mate in this trip. Also, they founded another city called Panama City in what is now the country of Panama.

Vasco Nunez de Balboa was a Spanish conquistador. He was the first eastern part of the pacific ocean. Crossing the Isthmus of Panama.

He set sail to find the fountain of youth. He landed near the city of St. Augustine, Florida. He never knew that he had landed on the new world of America.

He began a voyage to the new world to explore it. He was aparently captured in 1527 while cruising off the coast of Cadiz. He was supposedly executed by order of Emperor Charles V.

He left from Spain to North America. The expedtion of 250 to 300 men was led by Panfillo de Narvaez. This crew survived a hurricane near Cuba and they landed near what is now Tampa Bay, Florida.

He departed from the port of Navidad, Mexico. 3 months later he landed in what is now San Diego Bay. He died during the expedition, but his crew kept going until about Oregon, but then forced back down to Mexico because of the winter.

He started going on trade ships in the Bay of Biscay at the age of 18. At the age of 23 he started to go on slaving voyages to Guinea and in West Africa. At the age of 24 he finally became captain.

This voyage was to find the North-West Passage. His crew set out from Dartmouth. He made his way to Greenland and down south towards Cape Farewell. He went back up towards Greenland, but on the other side and was in Baffin Land.

He, his son, and 11 crew members saled from England on the Hopewell. His crew went passed Greenland toward the North Pole. This voyage was to find a way for the English trading ships to get to the far East.
