Age group behaviors

  • Ages 5-10

Three typical behaviors in children who range from the age of 5-10 years old would be: Talking back, lying and defiance. These are behaviors that are commonly seen in students of this age group. I have never taught students let alone taught these ages but I have been around children of this age enough to know that these are very common behaviors. Although all children have their positives, these are definite challenges teachers would face with this age of student.
  • Ages 11-13

Typical behaviors seen in children from ages 11-13 are as follows: Rebellion is a big issue as these children are beginning to step into the world of being a teenager, weird behavior due to being around peer pressure is something to look out for in students, and this age group also begins to take notice to how other perceive and view them. Their behavior may alter based on whether or not they feel accepted or rejected and embarrassment can tend to happen more easily in this age group.
  • Ages 14-18

Typical behaviors in children from the ages of 14-18 are as follows: Depression and sadness is a common concern when it comes to these students. They are effected easily by those around them and I would say very few of us had a great high school experience. Worrying about appearance is another behavior as well as the responsibility that they are able to take on now that they are older.
