  • The beginning

    EMERGENCE AS A STATE The creation of modern Afghanistan began with the assassination of Nadir Shah (a Persian) who ruled much of Afghanistan and Persia, and the rise of an Afghan army under the leadership of Ahmad Shah Abdali who proclaimed the Durrani dynasty and established a united Afghan State beginning in 1747.

    Britian established the outlines of Afghanistan as a buffer state between its Indian Raj (rule) and Russia to the North.

  • Britian was expelled from Afghanistan

  • King Mohammed Zaher Shah ruled Afhanistan as a constitutional monarchy

  • The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan

    There is battles between the ideas of communism and the beliefs of the Islamic Mujahidin

  • 1989-1994 End of Soviet occupation

    Beginning of civil war between Mujahidin and different ethnic groups.

  • Raise of the Taliban

  • Taliban feel from power and President Hamid Karzei came to power
