Sickness Strikes!
A.A Harrison gets tuberculosis because of unsanitary camps. (No cure found during the war, if you got it you had it for the rest of your life). -
First Ambush
The camp was attacked. -
Getting Paided Every Month for Service
Some soldiers would be assigned to walk around the town to guard, look for intoxicated men, and for soldiers out of uniform. A.A Harrison gets paid $18 every month for his service doing this. -
Promotion
He gets a promotion for his good service and by this point is now getting paid $21 a month. -
His First Battle
First fight near Corinth about 100 miles from Nashville Tennesse. A.A lost 15 to 20 thousand men, the south lost about 40 thousand men. -
Docters Lost!!
At the camp two docters and the Colonel were arrested because they were drinking on the job. A.A couldnt get the medication he needed to try to keep healty and keep fighting. -
Bouncing Baby
He's wife had a baby on April 19 then it died 10 days later on April 29. -
