    She was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts. On her mothers side, she was decedned from the Quincy family. Her father was a leader in a Yankee society that held its clergy in high esteem.

    John first mentions Abigail in a journal entry saying that he was overwhelmed by her. Johns friend, Richard Cranch, was first to intoduce them. It was a poor first impression, but he continued to visit her untill he had a good job to support a family.

    Beofre the battle, the men were having a party that includded a lot of drinking. The battle started and both sides didnt want to be the first one to shoot. Some say that an African American fell and shot first. Once the gun went off, five other men were killed.

    Befor he was chosen as ambassador also served as the Minister Plenipotentiary, French Ambassador in Dutch Republic, and Ambassador for Republic of Venice and Old Swiss Confederacy. The ambassador to the court of st. James is also known as the ambassodor to Great Britian. During his rule, he intimated to King George III that he has no attachment but to his won counrty.

    There were many factors to the rebellion such as a economic depression, and harsh government policies. Protestors were mostly war veterans. Later on, they stated shuting down county courts to stop the judicial hearings for tax and states debt. The protestors soon became to start armed forces.

    John Adams becomes Vice President
    During the Revolutionary war, he served in France and Holland, and helped negotiate the treaty of peace. From 1785 to 1788 he was minister to the Court of St. James's. Adams two terms as vice president were rough, he complained to Abigail saying, "My country has in its wisdom contrived for me the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived."

    She was the second "First Lady" once John Adams was elected as president. She loved to write letters expressing her fellings, and then read them to the public. She also liked to help John Adams in many battles as president.

    The Alien and Sedition acts was a series of laws passed by the Federalists Congress and signed into law by President John Adams. These laws included more power to send away foreigners and make it harder for immigrants to vote. The Sedition Act law said it prohibits public opposition to the governemt.

    He was a charmer, but small and shy. Historians say he was a homosexual. This upset John Adams, so Charles let his family and became addicted to alcohol. He died of poisoning soon after.

    She died in Quincy long before John Adams. She died of a rare case of typhooid fever. This fever is caused by salmonella typhi or salmonella paratyphi.
