As torpedoes are loaded onto the sub it is unknown that there is a flaw. The torpedos are powered by Kerosine and Highly concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide this mixture is even more powerfull than the warhead that sits at the front of the torpedo. The explosion of the torpedo erupted into an infrono becuase of the chemical reaction in the torpedo. The torpedo room and the forward compartments are ruptured and water fills the room in under 7 seconds. now the kursk starts to sink. She slams into the ocean floor at 375 feet deep. When the sub hits the ocean floor the remaining torpedos and there fuel explode.375 feet is Realitiveley shallow in submarine terms. The milk doesnt go into the compartment so it must be flooded. The divers open the hatch and a small amount of air escapes along with all the hopes of the crew members survivng. The Kursk tragedy was a submarine tragedy but it could have been much worse. If the 5 inch steel surrounding the nuclear reactors didnt hold up it would have caused a nuclear meltdown and nuclrea radition would pullute the ocean causing an international disaster.
