The World Anti-Slavery Convention is held in London
Ambolitionist Lucretia Mott and Elizibeth Candy Stanton attend, but they are barred from prticipating in the meeting. This snub leads them to decide to holds a womans rights convention when they return to America. -
First Womans Rights Convention
Held in Seneca Falls, New York, the first womans rights convention was taken place. Amelia Bloomer, Charlotte Woodward, and Frederick Douglas made appearences at the convention. In Rochester took place of a larger meeting. -
"Ain't I a Woman"
During the woman's rights convention in Akron, Ohio, Sojourner Truth conveyed her "Ain't I a Woman" speech. -
14th Amendment Passed For Former Slaves
The 14th amendment passes for former slaves. It has a twist to it though because only males are allowed to vote, excluding womans suffrage. People are mad which leads to a split in the movement. -
The Fifteenth Amendment Ratified
This allows woman to vote but when they go to the polls to vote they are still turned down anyway. -
Woman Granted Full Voting Rights
Women were granted full voting rights. An International Council of Woman was formed where they worked together to lay the foundation for a reconcilation between the two groups. -
Anthony retire National American
Anthony retires as the president of the National American and, to the surprise of many, recommends Carrie Chapman Catt as her successor; Catt is elected. -
Susan B. Anthony
The Susan B. Anthony amendment recives a vote from the senate, but it didnt pass. -
19th Amendment passed
The senate finally passes the 19th amendment after the house voted for a third time to enfranchise women. Suffragist begin their ratification campaign. -
Women won Voting Rights
Despite the political subversion of anti-suffragists, on the 26th of august, 1920, woman won full voting rights.
