This is indirectly telling you that by Scrooge's actions for loving money more than he did her that broke her heart and his too. So she broke up with him and he, having his heart broke, wants to be selfish so that can not happen to him again.

  • Bob Cratchit's Son is dying

    " If he be like to die,he had better do it, and decrease the surplus population. Scrooge hung his head to hear his own words quoted by the Spirit, and was overcome with penitence and grief"(Dickens 52). Scrooge forenamed that quote on page 16 and this quote is an indirect effect and looks on Scrooge because he was changing and he did not want Tiny Tim to die.

    " However his offences carry their own punishment, and I have nothing to say against him. I'm sure he is very rich Fred," hinted Scrooge's niece." At least you always tell me so"(Dickens 56). This quote is indirectly telling you by their speech they are mocking Scrooge because he is so selfish and so self absorbed.

This is Indirectly telling you that by Scrooge's actions toward the community he is changed. A example is when he is giving his money to help out the poor and giving Bob the money to go buy a fireplace.

    " I'll send it to Bob Cratchit's. He went to church, and walked the streets"(Dickens 77). This quote is indirectly showing you the actions that he does toward the people he hurt. Scrooge completely turned around with his life and is a greater man than he was.
  • Bob Cratchit's Surprise!

    " A merry Christmas, Bob!" said Scrooge, with an earnestness that could not be mistaken, as he clapped him on the back"( Dickens 80). This is Directly showing you by Scrooge's actions he is a changed man and he wants to give back all the money he has back into the world.
