    At the age of 2, David was a loved child by both his father and mother.

    David remembers going to the beach in the summer with his family. This was his favourite place!

    David's mother tries to burn him on top of the stove
    In one of David's mother's crazy episodes, she told him she wanted to watch him burn, as she tried to lift him on top of the hot stove. He stalled until his brothers came home which saved his life. David found that there were certain ways to distract his mother and to stay alive.

    David decides to fight to survive and to find happiness
    David finds 'some' hope, and decides to not give up. He decides to do what he can to find any happiness.
  • The Stabbing

    The Stabbing
    At this point in David's life, he had a slave-like existence. He rarely recieved food and was being starved. His mother threatened to kill him on a daily basis with her games. (He had certain amounts of time to complete chores... or else)
    One night when Davi'd mother was highly intoxicated, she stabbed David in the stomach. He believes it was an accident, and that maybe the abuse would stop after the incident. David was wrong.
  • David's father leaves family

    David's father decided he can't deal with his wife anymore and leaves the family. David loses all respect for his father as he gave up trying to help David. He also feels some jealousy that his father got to leave.
  • David gives up

    David gives up
    David believes there is no god for him ( He is an exception) He despises any sort of happiness (children playing, his brothers etc..)
    -David has now accepted that his mother will kill him. He felt as though he was fighting this war alone. With that, he lost his will to fight.
  • David gets saved

    David gets saved
    David was saved at the age of 12 when a teacher reported the abuse to child protective services who contacted the police. David was put in a foster home afterwards.
