  • Oct 12, 1492

    Columbus discovers America

    Columbus and 90 crewmen got off the three ships that were to make the first voyage to the New World, the Niña, Pinta, and, Santa Maria. On October 12, 1492, Columbus first saw the islands of the new world, landing in the Bahamas.
  • Aboard the Mayflower

    Aboard the Mayflower
    102 Pilgrim passengers departed from Plymouth aboard the Mayflower. The 3,000-mile voyage across the Atlantic lasted more than two months.
  • The First ThanksGiving

    The First ThanksGiving
    The Pilgrims and the Native Americans feasted on the first Thanksgiving, although they did not call their harvest festival a "Thanksgiving", to them it was purely religious.
  • Discover of Electricity

    Benjamin Franklin is known as the father of electricity. He made an experiment outside during a thunderstorm. He used a kite and flew it during the thunderstorm that indicated that electricity and lightning were somehow related. With this experiment it made the discovery of electricity.
  • Albany Congress

    It was a British meeting discussing how to protect themselves from the French. During the meeting Benjamin Franklin had a plan, he thought that the colonist should join together under one government.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The colonists refused to pay for the tea, so they dumped all of the imported tea into the Boston Harbor. Men, chopped open the tea trunks they found onboard and dumped almost 10,000 pounds of tea into the harbor. This action was taken by the colonists to show their distain at England's attempt to monopolize the tea market, forcing the colonists to buy their tea from the British East India Company.
  • First Continental Congress

    Delegates from all 13 colonies met in Philadelphia to discuss responses to increased British oppression. They thought that the colonists should have the same rights as the Englishmen, and they wanted to form the Continental Assosiation.
  • The American Revolution starts

    The American Revolution starts
    The American Revolution started because of the Boston Massacre, Boycotting, and the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Massacre started when the British Officials shot some of the colonists, the 13 colonies boycotted the British goods, and the Boston Tea Party happened when the colonists threw all of the imported tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Lexington and Concord

    The first shots were fired in Lexington. British General Thomas Gage sent 700 soldiers to destroy guns and ammunition the colonists had stored in the town of Concord, just outside of Boston. They also planned to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock, two of the leaders of the patriot movement.
  • Battle of Quebec

    The Battle of Quebec was between American Continental Army forces and the British defenders of the city of Quebec.The British and Canadian garrison drove off the American attack and ended the threat to the British control of Canada.
  • The Declaration Of Independence

    Thomas Jefferson presents the United States Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was all that was needed for the colonists to break free from Britain.
  • The American Revolution ends

    The American Revolution ends
    The American Revolution officially ended when the Treaty of Paris was signed. The Treaty of Paris said that Britain recognized the United States as a seperate, independent country. It also started the Americans alliance with France.
  • George Washington

    George Washington was the first president of the United States, he was the commander of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. He was president for 8 years and he instead became Commander in Chief of the Army. He later died on December 14,1799.
  • The United States Bill of Rights

    It is the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution are known. They were introduced by James Madison and came into effect as Constitutional Amendments through the process of ratification.
  • Whiskey Rebellion

    Whiskey Rebellion
    It was a tax protest because they were taxing on the Whiskey. The tax was a part of treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton's program to centralize and fund the national debt.

    The War of 1812 was a military conflict fought between the forces of the United States and those of the British Empire.The Americans declared war in 1812 for many reasons.
  • War of Texas Independence

    The Texas Declaration of Independence is addopted on March 2nd, 1836. On April 21st, 1836 Texans under Sam Houston soundly defeat General Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto. This victory secured Texas' Independence
  • Mexican-American War

    The Mexican War between the United States and Mexico began with a Mexican attack on American troops along the southern border of Texas on Apr. 25, 1846. Fighting ended when U.S. General Winfield Scott occupied Mexico City and later a peace treaty was signed on February 2, 1848 at Guadalupe Hidalgo.
  • Civil War Begins

    The war was between the Confederate states which were 11 states that seceded from the United States and became its own country, they were the confederacy led by Jefferson Davis. The confederacy fought against the Union led by Robert E. Lee. The Confederacy attacked Fort Sumter and that's when the Civil War began.
  • Civil War Ends

    Robert E. Lee surrenders to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomatox Court House in Virginia, 617,000 Americans had died in the war. Approximately the same number as in all of America's other wars combined. Thousands had been injured. The southern landscape was devastated.

    President Lincoln and his wife arrived at the play and they got into their seats. The police guard left. a man came in put a gun at Lincoln's head, and pulled the trigger.
  • Spanish-American War

    USS Maine, a battleship built between 1888 and 1895, was sent in January 1898 to protect American interests during the revolt of the Cubans against the Spanish government. In the evening of 15 February 1898, Maine sank when her forward gunpowder magazines exploded. Like about three-quarters of the battleship's crew died as a result of the explosion
  • Martin Luther King Jr.

    Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial. He gave that speech to let people know that we should treat one another equaly. He didn't want people to treat other people wrong just because their a different color.
  • First Cell Phone Made

    Doctor Martin Cooper invented the modern cell phone. He invented the technology responsible for the cell phone when he was the Director of Research and Development at Motorola. Dr. Martin Cooper is also known as the first person to make a call on a cell phone.
  • Twin Towers Collapsed

    The World Trade center were huge buildings made in the United States. People reffered the World Trade Center as the Twin Towers. On September 1st, 2001 two airplanes crashed into the twin towers, and the towers collapsed. Many people couldn't believe their eyes as they saw them fall down slowly. There were alot of people still inside the towers when they collapsed and many of them died.
