On September 11th, 2001 four airplanes hijacked and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the U.S. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers, one into the pentagon, and one crash landed in a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and over 6,000 were injured.
