    Boston Massacre
    50, angry Colonists were throwing things at the British soldiers so one of the soldiers accidentally shot and killed 5 colonists. This upset the colonies, leaving the British with a bad reputation.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    To get back the money from the French and Indian War, the British government taxed the colonists on tea. After refusing to buy tea, three ships showed up in Boston but were turned away by the people. The ships were told not to leave until they got their money. 200 men, disguised as Indians, went onto the ships and dumped over chests of tea.

    When the British got to Concord, the stash was gone and the soldiers were angry. Along the way, the militia used Guerilla Warfare, which set the British soldier's numbers back.

    The Battle of Lexington & Concord took place in Boston, Massachusetts and it began the Revolutionary War. The British were traveling to Concord because they heard of an illegal stash of weapons that the Americans had. When the Britsh got to Lexington, minutemen were waiting. There was a shot, though no one knew who it was, making it known as "the shot heard round the world." After that, the minutemen scattered and the British continued on their way.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on the Charlestown Peninsula in Boston. The Americans went to Bunker Hill and secretly made forts to attack the British because their ships were right there. It took three attempts to take the hill from the Patriots. The British technically won but they lost many soldiers, leaving the Americans with few inguries/deaths.

    The British thought they had the Patriots trapped in New York because they had them surrounded and they were backed up to water. Washington worked all night to get ships into New York, where he snuck out all of the Patriots, leaving the British confused when they woke up with no prisoners.

  • Battle of Trenton

    Washington had just been defeated in New York and their spirits were down. The Patriots crossed the Delware River and took over 900 Hessians.

    Battle of Princeton
    Washington's troops attacked the British and the Hessians at Princeton. To rally the Patriots, Washington rode into the middle of the battlefield. The Patriots won. Because of the Battle of Princeton, many men began to enlist in the army,

    This battle ended William Howe's plan to cut England off of everyone. 5700 British soldiers surrendered which showed the rest of the world that the Americans had a chance of winning. Thanks to this battle, France offered support.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Valley Forge was a soldier camp where Washington brought in Friedrich von Steubon who whipped the Patriots into shape. It was freezing and illnesses were everywhere, especially smallpox. Thanks to Washington, he created a "vaccine" to keep people immune to it.

    Washington closes in on General Cornwallis from three directions. When Cornwallis retreats to the sea, the French are there to stop them, causing the British to surrender, which often marks the end of the war.
